The Kittens Get Toys!

The first time kittens see toys is pretty much the best thing ever.  Their eyes get wider and wider, they start to wobble excitedly in place even more, and you can practically see their brains working a mile a minute to process these fantastic new things.  If they could talk, I'm sure they'd be saying 'OMG WHAT ARE THOSE ARE THEY FOR US?!'

This springy tree is always a favorite among kittens - the mouse at the top rattles!  Kittens especially like to get stuck inside it, but for now Hugo is content just nomming on it.  (Moments later he knocked it over.)

Vlad was more apprehensive about toys at first.  He had to be the tough guy, and hissed at a jingly ball for a solid minute before deciding it was ok and not a threat.

Hugo was more alarmed at Vlad's hissing than at the jingly ball, but decided to hide behind his brother anyways... just in case.

Miranda likes this mouse, especially nibbling on his purple ears.

Meanwhile, Hugo prepares to strike at this menacing bottle cap.

Elektra spots the mouse, and proceeds to roll around on/near it for a good while.

While Elektra plays with her new mouse friend, Hugo discovers a stuffed green heart, Miranda takes a snack break, and Vlad watches the action from safety.  (See his little face peeking around the side of the carrier?)

While Elektra heads for the bow, Hugo is busy bunny kicking that green heart!

Even with so many choices, it looks like Hugo has settled on the stuffed green heart as his favorite.

Toy and pillow?  Excellent choice, Hugo.

Emboldened by his brother's bravery and bunny kicking skills, Vlad decides maybe toys aren't so scary after all.

And what does M think about her ever-rowdier kittens?  She's content to just sit back and observe.  :)
